Orange you glad to see me?

Finals done and over with and somehow I managed to get a summer internship within the first week of semester break. I don't know how, but it happened and I couldn't be more grateful. It's a marketing internship for my hometown and I start next week. I definitely did not anticipate getting a job this early on in the season but it saves a lot of time on job searching and jumpstarts my summer!

What's fun about this upcoming job is that I'm going to have to invest in business-casual pieces that are fit and wearable for the hot summer. I'm thinking linen trousers, long and loose cotton shorts, and sleeveless button-ups and blouses that are still my style and make me feel cute. A shopping trip is soon to come, along with it a haul and lookbook!

This look is obviously not business casual- at least with the cropped sweater. I've been wanting to pull out these white Oak + Fort jeans for a while. The weather we're experiencing is lovely- sunny and mild, and these jeans are perfect for running errands while perhaps facing air conditioning indoors but the beautiful sun outdoors. I will definitely wear these to my new job, I think with their colour and cut that they can be dressed up to a level of business casual.

I wanted to keep this look simple with a splash of colour, and this DIY thrifted Reebok adds the perfect touch. Throw on some Vans and you're good to go.

Out of This World

Vancouver weather has everyone confused at the moment. One day it is mild conditions with sunshine, the next we have a full on snow storm (not an exaggeration!) Because of this, I have been mastering the art of layers. In this look, I have two (yes two) long sleeve shirts off to start, then my long denim button-up as a visible layer, and then lastly my gigantic black sweatshirt. As if this wasn't enough layers, I even have another pair of leggings underneath my velvet ones! Throwing on my trusty black toque and Docs to add just that much more warmth. And, of course, a Diana look would not be complete without a good ol' choker. With this look I was prepared for any weather-surprises Vancouver could throw at me!

Drab denim

Sometimes, we Vancouverites get too eager and excited for spring and jinx it all. These photos were taken the day before we received over 5 inches of snow. Which is sad, because I was excited to start breaking in these damn adorable loafers. But, like every year here, they will have to wait for the non-shitty weather (a whole 2 months of the year). But, I was feeling confident and dared distressed denim and a simple t for casual yet still put together ensemble. This trusted denim jacket never fails me when I hope to add warmth and some somewhat ragged look. Right up my alley.

Fishnet Friday

Upon find this jumper at the thrift store, I immediately became inspired. Dabbling in the fishnets-under-distressed-denim trend, I have to say I love it. Making me feel a kind of way! I will definitely be wearing this trend more often! Especially during the transition months that is known as "Vancouver spring" which consists of rain, rain, and rain. All together, this outfit made me feel like the badass I aspire to be.

Shroom

There is nothing quite like the implicit romantic ambience that lace bralettes supply.
This incredibly long tank simply tied into a knot with my most trusted high waisted shorts supplies the best platform for this beige lacy bralette, which is a personal favourite of mine for the spring and summer season.
With the combination of the lovely bralette, delicate layered necklaces, sweet little flats, and of course the whimsical watercolour mushrooms  -
I felt incredibly ethereal in this outfit.

According to my facial expressions, wearing sporty clothes brings out the bitch in me.
All jokes aside, this casual sporty look is not only incredibly comfy with the easy crop top, loose shorts, and thrown on Nikes, it is also laid back and quite minimalistic. No fuss.
Throw on a denim jacket for when the lovely sun decides to hide behind some ominous looking grey clouds.

Bunny

When my sister found this adorable light denim button up at a thrift store, she originally thought it would be a lovely blouse. She is about half a foot taller then me. To her disappointment, when she tried it on it was as a strange length of being too long for a normal shirt and she just didn't quite like it for herself. I, however, being a mere 5 foot 3, tried it on and was ecstatic to see that it met the bare minimum of being a dress! With a pair of shorts underneath, I felt totally comfortable and cute in this simple ensemble.
Again with the converse and high socks. Of course.
For an extra shot of nostalgia, I threw my hair up into what I, and my mother, used to call "little steam buns".
