Stopping Traffic

The finale of our shoot: going to quite literally the middle of the road for a shot. Anything to get "the" shot, right? Anyway, adrenaline rush aside, it was absolutely worth it.

With my Urban Outfitters crop top, thrifted trousers, thrifted belt, Old Skool Vans, and Sadie & Sage denim jacket, we took on the streets. You can't see the fear in my eyes, can you?

Oliva Chan was absolutely amazing to work with, and I am obsessed with the photos she took during this shoot. I can't wait to possibly work with her in the future. Don't forget to check out her work!

Take My Hand

Finding this overpass downtown in Gastown was a game-changer for Olivia and I.

Keeping the look from our last post, we moved up to where the natural light shines, and we're obsessed with the results. Opting for my hair half up this time for some dimension (my hair often looks flat and boring) we started experimenting with the "reaching into the camera" pose, and you'll be seeing some more of it in later posts as well.

Think You Got The Juice?

When Olivia said we should try taking a few shots in the SFU Nesters Market, I thought: one, that's genius, and two, this should be fun.

What I wasn't expecting was the fantastic lighting- soft, warm, and glowy. Perfectly blown out, with yellow tones that added an ethereal vibe to the photos. Although I was initially anxious about the possibility of taking photos in a public store, we came to found that we went during a relatively inactive time and encountered very few awkward stares. Thank God.

As one may be able to guess, I borrowed this Hawaiian t-shirt from my dad's closet. Paired with my grey Garage biker shorts, black American Apparel fanny pack, and my unknown vintage Nike Airs. Underneath I'm sporting my grey Calvin Klein sports bra, which came in handy for our following outfit changes.

All Chained Up

Near the end of March I had the pleasure of doing a shoot with the lovely Olivia Chan. Shot in Gastown, we spent the day wandering around back allies and parking lots, finding locations that work with the given outfit. Stay tuned for our shots in Nesters Market! That was fun to do. You can see more of Olivia's work and contact her here, here, and here.

This look was centred around my grey and red Nike Snaps Pants, which I styled with my Forever 21 cropped t-shirt, Shop Sadie and Sage black denim jacket, the classic Old Skool Vans, and accessorized with a bunch of chains. These necklaces are a mix of consignment and second hand, and I thought to throw them all on and layer them for an attempted Billie Eilish vibe.
