I'm Hooped

Being in the midst of midterm season, sometimes it can be difficult putting in the willpower to "look good" in the morning. However, I have been finding with simple pieces that are loose and comfortable, with some eye-catching accessories, I am able to put outfits together quickly and get on with my day. This was definitely one of those days. First, we have the loose mom jeans which are always my go-to. With them, a loose black t-shirt tied into a know- a look I recommend for days that you want to be comfortable but not completely lose your shape. Then, adding a fuzzy black sweater will keep me warm in these gross Vancouver-weather days. Now, to make the look a bit more special, I threw on a necklace my mom made (and plans to start selling soon), and a vintage belt from my mother as well! Then threw my hair up into a half bun and threw on some Keds. I was toasty warm, completely comfortable, and still looked half decent!

Drab denim

Sometimes, we Vancouverites get too eager and excited for spring and jinx it all. These photos were taken the day before we received over 5 inches of snow. Which is sad, because I was excited to start breaking in these damn adorable loafers. But, like every year here, they will have to wait for the non-shitty weather (a whole 2 months of the year). But, I was feeling confident and dared distressed denim and a simple t for casual yet still put together ensemble. This trusted denim jacket never fails me when I hope to add warmth and some somewhat ragged look. Right up my alley.

Fishnet Friday

Upon find this jumper at the thrift store, I immediately became inspired. Dabbling in the fishnets-under-distressed-denim trend, I have to say I love it. Making me feel a kind of way! I will definitely be wearing this trend more often! Especially during the transition months that is known as "Vancouver spring" which consists of rain, rain, and rain. All together, this outfit made me feel like the badass I aspire to be.

Bundled Up

Trying to stay warm but still be fashionable can be a struggle for people who are perpetually freezing cold like me. However, I do find ways to get around this- and that is of course, layering. Under these ripped jeans I put on some black tights (not quite warm enough for fishnets), and with it a black turtle neck and a warm sweater. Add a great belt with some metal detailing, and throw on my velvet boots and I manage to look decent in the snow.
